I followed in my grandfather’s footsteps in becoming a photographer and my first professional camera was his last, a DSLR Leica. I’ve known since I was a child that I had a significant interest in photography and when I completed my compulsory education at school, I began my journey to making photography my full-time career. I went on to study at sixth form college where I gained an A-Level in photography. I then wanted to further my education and qualification in the field, so I attended university in London where I gained my degree and proudly graduated with a 2:1 BA Hons in Photography and Digital Imaging.
A little bit about me…I’m a stay indoors kind of person and love nothing more than wearing cosy knit jumpers and warm comfy slippers, all year round if I can get away with it. When I do venture out and about I’m rarely seen without my camera, always ready for a photo opportunity. I love all genres of music, it just all depends on what kind of mood I’m in as to who I’m listening to. Generally, my go to is Jason Mraz, but I enjoy music from other artists such as Bill Withers and Jason Derulo as well. After having been together for 7 years, I married my soulmate in 2018 and in 2021 we welcomed a gorgeous goldendoodle fur baby called Baloo into our little family.
I’m so lucky to have made a career out of my dream to become a photographer and make my grandad proud of what I have been able to do. Aside from the joy I get out taking photos in the studio, I have a passion for animal photography, and whether these incredible animals are captive or wild, I’ve had the privilege to capture amazing images in both environments. I’ve been fortunate to have the opportunity to go to zoos across London, Kent, and Edinburgh as part of my university project to photograph endangered species which really piqued my interest. My husband and I also went travelling to Africa for our honeymoon and I was finally able to fulfil my lifelong dream to see wildlife in their natural habitat, I even got the chance to interact with one of the world’s most majestic creatures and went walking with elephants. While we were in Africa, I also built the courage to do one of the craziest and bravest things I’ve ever done…skydiving!
What I love most about being a photographer is having the opportunity to capture a moment in time to show true emotion and create a memory that can be relived whenever you look at the photos. It’s also incredibly important to me to showcase individuality and unique personality of each person that steps in front of my lens. For me, it’s not just point and shoot, it’s about showing care and attention to detail in all my work whilst giving clear direction and making sure that my clients are comfortable throughout the entire process, so the experience is an enjoyable one.
I also pride myself on being incredibly versatile so I can work closely with all customers of any age, gender, race, sexuality, etc. I’m super friendly and approachable and I’ll go out of my way to help anyone who needs it. I’ll always go that extra mile, even if this means acting like a clown in the studio to capture those genuine cheeky giggles and smiles. I have a calm caring nature too which certainly helps me to turn anyone’s day around if they don’t feel themselves…especially tiny tantrums!
Lastly, I make it my goal to capture those intimate special moments that may only come around once in a lifetime not only in the studio, and for my customers, but in my personal experiences too.
